December 13, 2017
Water and sewer rates for the Town of Rosetown will increase, effective January 1, 2018 as part of the bylaw that was approved in April 2014. The new rates will take effect on your next utility bill.
The rates have changed as follows:
Basic monthly charge: $31.25 per month (increase from $30.75 per month), with all water used to be charged at $9.75 per 1,000 gallons (increase from $9.50 / 1,000 gallons).
Basic monthly charge: $8.00 per month (increase from $6.00 per month) plus 15% of the water rate (increased from 10%).
For example, a household that uses 3,000 gallons of water in a month will see the following increase:
Current rates: $30.75 (water base charge) + $28.50 (water consumption charge) + $6.00 (sewer base charge) + $2.85 (sewer consumption charge – 10% of water consumption) = $68.10
$31.25 (water base charge) + $29.25 (water consumption charge) + $8.00 (sewer base charge) + 4.38 (sewer consumption charge – 15% of water consumption) = 72.88. Difference: $4.78 per month.
Remember there is also an Environmental charge of $9.00 per month on all residential utility bills for waste collection as well as a Recycling/Compost charge of $7.50 per month on all residential utility bills for recycling collection.
