Wheatland Regional Library

Located at 201 5th Avenue E.

The Wheatland Regional Library is one of ten library systems that serve Saskatchewan. The Wheatland system was founded in 1967 and consists of a central office located in Saskatoon with 45 branches spread across West Central Saskatchewan serving 141 communities. Borrowing books has become easier through a computerized system that is accessible from any online computer with just your library card and your personal pin number. Renewing materials and accessing materials from other library systems through the online interlibrary loan request systems are just a few of the services a cardholder can receive online.

Rosetown Centennial Library

Rosetown's first library was opened in 1928 by a group of concerned citizens. Through the years the library has had a number of locations until in 1967, as part of a centennial project, a new building was erected at 201 - 5th Avenue East in Lovett Park.

In that same year the Rosetown Centennial Library became part of the Wheatland Regional System, which allows its patrons access to material across the country. The library is a great place to enjoy a variety of books, magazines, cassettes, CDs and DVDs. There are six computers with internet access for public use at no charge through the Rosetown Library CAP program. The Library also offers free WIFI. Story times are always advertised well in advance and are enjoyed by those attending.

Rosetown Archives

The library is also home to the Rosetown Centennial Library Archive, which is located on the main floor. The archive was established by Frank Glass in 1973 and is home to the "Frank Glass Photograph Collection" consisting of 456 historical photographs that are documented and described. These photographs and descriptions are accessible through the Saskatchewan Archive Information Network and provide an excellent insight to Rosetown past and present.

The archive has a further and still growing photograph collection numbering in excess of 1,500 items. There is a collection of area history books, local family histories and organization histories that have been donated for the purpose of preserving Rosetown's history for future researchers. A microfilm reader is available for individuals who wish to research the microfilmed copies of the Rosetown Eagle from its first issue in 1909. The archive is open during regular library hours and interested parties are invited in for a chat about Rosetown's past and staff will be able to help with any questions visitors may have.
