Rosetown’s organic waste collection was introduced to the community in 2017. Bins were provided to households, and collection takes places every two weeks during spring, summer and fall months, weather-permitting. Read the monthly fees for the cart (PDF).
Curbside Compost Collection begins (weather permitting )
Effective May 6th (weather permitting), we will resume bi-weekly (Tuesday) curb-side pick-up of your dark green compost bin on the day designated for your area.
There are two zones: Red Zone (north of 6th avenue): pick-up begins May 6th
Blue Zone (south of 6th avenue): pick-up begins May 13th.
Please ensure you have your cart out by 7:00 am and have it placed wheels to the curb and at least 4’ away from vehicles or
obstructions.

What can I put in my organic bin?

- Eggs Shells - Coffee grounds, filters, tea bags
The following are not permitted
- NO proteins (poultry, beef, pork, etc.) dairy (cheese, milk, yogurt), fat trimmings, oils, baked goods, coffee pods, bio-plastics, glass or metal
